Explain Agriculture Sector

Agriculture Sector

 Important of Agriculture Sector:

1. Supply of Basic Need:

Rice, Tobacco, wheat etc these all the basic needs for living was fulfilled by agriculture, otherwise we should move towards import for fulfillment.

2. Market of industrial Goods:

Large market is available for industrial sector.

3. Base of export:

Now a days 30 percent export based on agriculture directly or indirectly especially raw material, intermediate goods e.g; Rice.

4. Source of foreign Exchange:

Due to increase in export foreign exchange increases.

5. Source of cheap labour:

It also eliminates unemployment from country because due to economic crisis labor gets ready to work on cheap wage too.
6. Source of Manpower:
It is also a source of manpower for armed forces.

7. Source of income:

As exports took place from agriculture and increased foreign exchange due to which income of country increases, infact directly or indirectly everything is related to the agriculture. It plays a 50 percent role in income.

8. Share in GDP:

30 percent of GDP is depandent uppn agriculture.

9. Expansion of Market:

The requirement od market is fulfilled by agriculture income.

Major Problems of Agriculture Sector:

The problems of agricultural sector is in whole world except Europe countries as they are developed countries.

1. Concentration of ownership of land:

The main problem is that a single owner have concentration of land, so personally he can not focused over all his land and at the other hand. Due to less concentration land is not using properly and irrigated overall, they are not managing it due to their own less interest.

2. Lack of Education:

In our country there was no any agricultural education.

3. Division of Land:

The actual farmers have small unit of land for cultivation because of distribution of land into family, due to these small pieces of land good or in large amount cultivation could not took place.
A corporation forming society was made and recognized by government in which ten farmer's together joint their land for same crop cultivation.
This cultivation become easy and in large quantity it took place, but in Pakistan this can't succeed due to lack of trust over each others Conflict took place between them. Government fulfills their needs of roads etc also provide a loan to this society.

4. Division of Families:

As Earlier in Rural area's their is a joint family system but now this system was also changed and separation of family takes place.
Due to separation of families, division of land took place to due to which ownership of land is also getting change.

5. Water Lagging and Ealinity:

The ideal situation for cultivation of land is that the water should be 16 feet below then land, the increase in this range harms the root of plant.
In Ravi, Jehlum, Chenab, Piyas, sutlej water comes from Kashmir. At the timi of agreement with Sindh-tor's, the three rivers were given to india and Pakistan gets two rivers chenab and Jehlum. Two Dams were formed their Terbela in Punjab and Mangla in Sindg theb a cluster of canal system was made to provide water.

Mechanical of Agriculture:

Process of agriculture is either by hand or machines.
• If you want to mechanized agriculture So:
a. Made industrial sector should be capable of providing machines.
b. Cost should be in reach of agricultural sector that they are able to purchase.
c. Requires large land, nof suitable for small pieces of land.

If agriculture sector get mechanized and cost was reduce then the production will be at least get doubles.
Arguments in Favor:

1. Increase in production:

Production of crop's gets increased.

2. Time saving:

Less time consumed and large production would took place.

3. Increase in Income (Standard of living):

Due to increase in production income increases and Standard of living will also changed and becomes good.

4. Job opportunity:

• Areas of cultivation
• Decrease in expenses

5. Unemployment:

A disgusted unemployment will also comes i front but this is issue of only in short term not for long term it remain same.

6. Division of land:

A valid argument that land is in small pieces cultivation in mechanized process is not possible. Co-operative farming is also get failed here.

7. Lack of local Industry:

In our own country, their is no industry of all machines except tractor.

8. Uncertain policy:

Their is no any single decision could take place in our country like First decided that tractor of 1300 hors powi is required but it is not in reach then 500 to 1300 hors power tractor was made and then the issue of maintenance of part come.
• If agriculture gets Mechanized:
If agriculture mechanized, Export were increased BOP gets positive.

9. Increase in Transport Facilitation:

A tractor is itself provides a transport facility to formers.

10. Increase in level of Technology:

Their is no reverse gear in technology, once a technology was adopted it increases gradually in its level form upper to upper.
technology never go back always upper and upper.

Arguments in Againt:

1. Poor Economic condition:

Formers are not economically strong so they cannot purchase the machineries.

2. Expensive Equipments:

Machines equipment is also of high cost.

3. Expensive Spare parts:

Limited market is available for spare parts. Spare parts will not be easily available in less amount. Industrial cost is increased due to which price is also high.

4. Shortage of workshops:

Service centre's for the purpose of repair is also not available, replacement of parts not possible.
Favor:
•Unemployment
• Division of Land
• Lack of local industry
• Certain policy

5. Decrease in expenses:

India give the electricity free. If we do like this so expenses will reduce.

6. Increase in area of cultivation:

10 percent part of land is not cultivated in Balochistan water and land is available but no resources.

7. Increase in Job Opportunity:

Not from today, from the past also, In Mughal time period A to Z the writer of books are muslim then in Akbar time press made. They tell to Akbar bur Akbar refused the press so the writer will become unemployee. This was wrong decision.

8. Increase in Transport Facility:

If mechanization will occured so transport facility will Increased.
